"We have only five loaves of bread and two fish!" … he looked up toward heaven, and asked God's blessing …They all ate as much as they wanted." Matthew 14: 17-20.
The artwork, crafted by the artist Shlomo Kessel, was adapted from the ancient Medeba Map of the Holy Land. The ancient map originates in the city of Medeba, situated in modern-day Western Jordan, and was created by Greek monks who used different icons to represent churches, cities and other sites in a huge 400 ft. mosaic. The mosaic is only partially preserved.
